My upcoming week's learning goals and objectives are to work on improving efficiency in ascertaining that I improve my interaction with patients with dementia, especially those who are at risk of elopement. I will thus spend more time with adults who have dementia, which will help me increase my understanding of how to handle them best and interact with them to avoid instances of elopement and misunderstanding.
Having been allocated in the adult care unit as a nurse at my community practice experience, the upcoming week will involve visiting and spending more time with patients with dementia. I will converse with at least two every day and try to understand their reasoning and how to handle them best. It will also involve holding conversations as a group, with at least five in each group to help them share their experiences and boost their confidence.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
There were no placement issues that occurred in the course of this week, as the challenges I faced were a stepping stone to improving my expertise in the field of healthcare. Most importantly, the challenges presented me with an opportunity to enhance relationships with not only the staff but also the patients.
This week I managed to offer patients with extensive knowledge on preventing Covid-19 through self-care, as is stated by the Centre for Disease Control. The CDC requires people to enforce proper sanitation and handwashing techniques, which will help avoid further infections ("Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) – Prevention & Treatment", 2020) . I helped them with the knowledge of the questions they asked regarding the virus and how one can avoid being infected. This information will help the patients protect themselves from further complications. Educating the patients on the importance of self-care is vital as it will help ascertain that the patients avoid further infections and thus recover faster.
