Planning function

The planning function of a health care manager involves setting a direction and identifying what will be required to effectively accomplish the set goals. For instance, managers working in a nursing home need to identify the right path that they should take to make the overall business successful. Therefore, their actions should make patients feel as if the community is their home, particularly if they can determine what the community needs and strategizing actions into place to help them accomplish it.

Organizing function

The organizing function entails the overall design of a given area that the manager oversees. The leader is responsible for reporting relationships, as well as all intentional patterns of interaction (Thomson, Buchbinder & Shanks, n.d). A typical example involves managers of a large hospital facility who decide the kind of administrative structure they need to ensure success in their respective businesses. However, these managers do not require a lot of administrative roles to accomplish their tasks at specific areas of the facility although they decide the types of staff to cut and replace with others.

Confidence

As a manager, I feel very confident with my abilities in the area of planning and organizing because I can diligently respond and adapt to the transitioning patient needs. This implies that I can make informed decisions regarding productivity, cost containment, ensure safety, and improved confidentiality in the healthcare organization (Thomson, Buchbinder & Shanks, n.d). Therefore, my abilities make me an effective manager who is accountable and can deliver quality patient outcomes in the healthcare environment in the long run. Finally, I feel overconfident because I can properly manage time, network, and support other members of the departments, as well as all relevant stakeholders for successful management.
