How to Solve the Problem of Illegal Immigrant Workers

The current problem of illegal alien workers in the United States is instigated by the inconsistency in law enforcement and the shadow of communities of isolated immigrants in fear. Instead of the federal government issuing a blanket decree the problem of immigrant workers in the US, it would be significant for the nation to adopt the sponsorship of these immigrants in businesses, families and institutions. The sponsorship program will serve the purpose of encouraging law-abiding behavior among all the individuals in the nations be it natives or immigrants. Under this program, the law-abiding citizens of the United States will work towards sponsoring the undocumented immigrants formally. In this case, sponsorship will serve as an effective solution because it is considered a local and community-based approach. The approach will help the immigrants to drop their fear and readily accept to be integrated into American society (Bhatt, 2004). The program will be one of the best ways to show and ensure that the immigrants are treated with dignity and respect. The dignity and respect are evident in the involvement of the US citizens in the implementation of the solution. The sponsorship program will further be the best way of building bridges within the American communities within which the immigrants already live, work and access facilities and services. 

Upon this reflection, I agree that my ethnic heritage influences my stand. I come from a community that values people from other cultures. My ethnic heritage demands that everyone needs to be treated right and respectful regardless of his or her cultural differences (Bhatt, 2004). In this way, peace, growth and value for the community initiatives will be achievable. Acknowledging the differences among people from different communities especially for illegal immigrants is a sure way of achieving prosperity, peace and development.
