Describe your acculturation experience as a new graduate to the culture of the nursing profession. How is it similar or different from the acculturation experience of a new nursing colleague who joined your team within the past year?
In a bid to increase the diversity of the nursing profession and be in a position of addressing the continuous issues in regard to health, instilling a predominant ant culture to new graduates and specialists is crucial. As such, the newcomers in the group strive to fit into the working environment t and work towards achieving the requisite knowledge that would enable them to conduct themselves the same way with the already competent members of the group. Again this integrative experience is experienced promoting and dealing with the increased distress and promoting cultural competence among the graduates and students an attempt that may result in job satisfaction. There has been high regard attached to cultural competence in the field of nursing ( Marianne R. Jeffreys, (2012) . The process of cultural competence evaluation makes use of a specified model to draw findings and conclusions on the level of cultural competence. From my experience, I got to understand the possibilities to internationalize as well as improved linguistic skills.

The process of acculturation from a personal point of view is demanding. Getting to take up traits that are not predominantly inherent is stressful. The character that one takes up will be a guiding principle in the professional arena, therefore it is important to master each provision keenly. The process becomes a challenge largely when one is a socialized from a totally conflicting professional culture as it calls for a complete deviation from one’s own culture. Acculturation in the nursing profession not only demand professional adaptation to the new condition, but also a personal adaptation. The experience on communication proved a little more hectic to the variation in the accents. However, my experience matches with the same magnitude to that of a new colleague who recently joined the team .
