Nurses play a vital role in the field of healthcare services as they provide specialized treatment to patients; however, it is one of the most underrated professions as they barely receive absolute recognition compared to their counterparts. Research suggests that advanced nursing practitioners are highly underpaid regardless of the value they add to health care services ( Pickard, 2014) . This easy aims to support pay equality as it offers strategic ways that promote fairness. The productivity of any given institution is based on the value of the workforce behind it. However, in the health care industry it is dynamic hence difficult to choose parameters to measure productivity since patients suffer from different diseases leading to various ways of treatment. (Calero, Gomila, & Fullana, 2019). Nonetheless, regardless of its dynamic nature, there are ways in which value can be calculated using the net revenue used and the gross income from the patients.
Additionally, the professional knowledge and experience can also be used in understanding the cost of caregiving services, as this measurement of value shows how well APN can push for their pay equality (Ahmed, Mohammed, Abdulsahib & Naqshbandi, 2018). Other factors of consideration are the technical skills needed to perform certain procedures, time taken and the mental input to judge conditions accordingly. This gives an upper hand for the standardization of health procedures across all medical practitioners. The identification of these characteristics draws attention to APN for comparable worth in the health sector hence pay equality. It is crucial to note that the result of effectiveness, efficiency and patient satisfaction are based on how productive the health care system is framed thus making equality of pay a primary key to motivate APN. In conclusion, the health care industry needs absolute reforms to promote its sustainability since nurses play a significant role in ensuring its relevance.
