Gestures are used to express particular feelings or stress points. One of the films where gestures have been used is Captain America. There are various examples where gestures have been used in this film. For example, Steve, the main character uses his hands to express himself and drive points home when communicating to his teammates or any other individual in the film ( Pease & Pease 2016).

Another gesture that is common in this film is the head nod. The head nod has been used to communicate silently to other people. For example, in one of the scenes where Steve and his teammates had been ambushed by mercenaries, he used the head to signal to one of the members to attack one of the mercenaries and thereby throw him off balance ( Pease & Pease 2016).

Eye contact is also another gesture which has been used extensively in this film. The eye contact has been used as a code of communication especially in situations where verbal communication is not possible. Eye contact has been used especially during missions and Steve and his team want to make surprise attack on the enemy ( Pease & Pease 2016).

Facial expression has also been used by various members in this film. For example, during arguments, the facial expression which has been depicted is that of anger. In these episodes, the face was concocted in such a manner to indicate anger. This was accompanied by a violent gesturing of hands. Facial expression was also used to indicate emotions such as regret, sadness, and happiness ( Pease & Pease 2016).

Generally, in Captain America, gestures have been used extensively by different characters to stress what they are saying, to communicate silently, and express different types of emotions ( Pease & Pease 2016).
