The first step that I took was to login into my USF account from where I clicked on the "Learning and Teaching Tools" tab before selecting "Library Services." The next tab that I clicked was "Databases," which resulted in various options, including the "Web of Science," which is the main database I will use for this assignment. Once I got to the database, I selected "Web of Science Core Collection" and set the custom range to 2012-2021 to have a refined literature search that includes current research articles. Having finished the preparation, I was ready to explore the topic of 'utilization of reproductive health services by minority women" by typing in the basic search tab. I entered the query without the quotation marks before hitting the blue search button to initiate my research. The search yielded eight articles revolving around young adults, adolescents, LGBT youth, and minority women in China.
Part 2
The first article that I started with is Kazmerski, T. M, Sawicki, G. S., Miller, E., Jones, K. A, Abebe, K. Z., Tuchman, L. K., Ladores, S., Rubenstein, R. C., Sagel, S. D., Weiner, D. J., Pilewski, J. M., Orenstein, D. M., & Borrero, S. (2018). Sexual and reproductive health care utilization and preferences reported by young women with cystic fibrosis. Journal of Cystic Fibrosis, 17 (1), 64-70 . DOI: 10.1016/j.jcf.2017.08.009. The reason why I chose the article is the fact that it has been cited more than 15 times, meaning that it has authoritative and relevant information. Moreover, the article focuses on a minority population with cysts (women) and how they interact with reproductive health. I filtered the 15 citing articles and came up with six which are relevant to our topic as follows:
