The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) runs programs that ensure the provision of healthcare to the marginalized groups including people living in disadvantaged communities, people of low socioeconomic status, HIV and AIDS patients, expectant mothers among others. In an exploration of the available data in the HRSA website, so much is revealed to me regarding activities by HRSA all over the United States. These activities range from medical grants, primary care facilitation in geographically vulnerable areas, and so many activities. Most HRSA programs revolve around improving the workforce in healthcare centers, enabling equity in health care access and generally setting up healthy communities. A sneak peak of data from the HRSA website reveals that 36,018 patients receive organ transplants supported by the HRSA in the financial year 2018. The HRSA HIV/AIDS programmed dubbed Ryan White HIV/AIDS program served over half a million people in the same year.

According to information from HRSA fact sheets, Clark County, Nevada had a population of 2.112,436 by the end of the financial year 2018 with 139,543 of them being categorized as low-income earners. The financial year ended 2018 saw HRSA award a total of $14,619,020 worth of grants and cooperative agreements (HRSA, 2018) . Similarly, HRSA awarded the county $623,014 worth of scholarships and loans in support of medical programs. The Health center program received $4,946,938 of funds HRSA with no expenditure on other related programs. The HRSA through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS program spent $7,482,295 to support medication of low-income HIV/AIDS patients. The HRSA also supported the healthcare workforce in Clark County, Nevada, by over $326 million to primary care physicians as well as students in Nurse Corps and National Health Service Corps. Further to that, the program funded Child and Maternal Healthcare with $666,144 and $195,866 on supporting healthcare in rural areas. In comparison to the State statistics of the HRSA programs, Clark District claimed a fair share of the total expenditures that HRSA spent on the whole state of Nevada in 2018. However, Clark District did not claim a portion of the expenditure on State, and Regional Care Associations presented in the state data.

It can also be deduced that the total awards to Nevada by HRSA present a fair share of the total sum of nationwide awards of over $9 billion. Nevertheless, awards on programs such as Native Hawaiian Health center controlled networks, Training and Technical assistance national cooperative agreements and Capital Assistance for Hurricane Response and Recovery Efforts do not appear on the Nevada report.

HRSA activities in San Diego East County amounted to $103,733,840 in the 2018 Financial Year (HRSA, 2018) , very much higher the amount in Clark, Nevada. San Diego benefited from programs on Health Center Controlled Networks which did not feature in Clark Nevada in 2018. The HRSA spent more money in every program in San Diego than they did in Clark, including maternal and child health care as well as HIV/AIDS care. The Ryan White HIV/AIDS program laid funding of $15,127,450. Specifically, offering 9 district grants for 5 grantees.

The data above would be very useful to my professional health career in several ways. As a professional nurse, I can get to advise some of my vulnerable patients who cannot afford basic care to consider applying for HRSA grants and solve their problems. Further to that, I can also push for some aspiring nurses who have the dream but cannot fund their education to consider applying for loans and grants from HRSA programs, that way, I will push for an increase in the workforce in the healthcare provider industry. The data on HRSA expenditures will also flourish my know-how of the excellent work done by the organization and get to support some of their programs.
