Just like non-criminal justice leaders, the criminal justice leaders face some issues that in return may result in hunger if not well controlled in the process of initiating change thus leading to the downfall of the leader. For instance, current issues in criminal justice such as violence against women define the need for power, affirmation as well as intimacy. However, the legally stated satisfactions to determine a ruling by a criminal justice leader towards the victim may affect the management of this hunger due to different understandings by leaders. This essay will look at the hunger the criminal justice leaders need to manage, and how the individual character affects the management of this hunger.

Power and control constitute the primary desire faced by a criminal justice leader. However, a leader must involve measures for controlling the power in him ( Heifetz & Linsky, 2002) . For instance, the current issue in leadership such as violence against women must be approached productively by the individual in power e.g. through encouraging social practices that might be facilitating the occurrence of the issue. Moreover, criminal justice leaders must be affirmative whereby they understand that not everybody is in a position of understanding or seeing things the way they are. For instance, as a leader, you should be in a position to understand that not all people believe that violence against women is a crime ( Department of Justice, 1995). , since most of the victims may be guided by social beliefs. Thus as a criminal justice leader, you must learn to manage the hunger that might be emanating from the behavior of the victim.

Further, every leader wishes to retain good intimacy in their position of leadership. This is only achieved through the management of positive intimacy that may arise within the leadership environment. For instance, hunger on intimacy may lead to a misunderstanding of people concerning violence against women and may be managed through a move by the leader to focus on appropriate ways for satisfying the needs such as systematic educating people starting with the young ones. However, individual character such as "kings' disease", an intoxicating effect of power that changes people after they are promoted, may affect the management of hunger. Moreover, other individual characters' such as relying on a sycophant who only tells the leader what he wants to hear may ruin hunger management.
