Hypertension is described as a long term medical condition that tends to elevate the blood pressure in arteries. There has been a tendency in many patients not to comply with the set medication offered to ensure that their hypertension levels remain relatively low. Lack of information among the hypertension patients thus lays the basis for the research. Therefore, the purpose of the paper is to indicate that hypertension patients can adhere to medication if given the proper education and the resources needed. The research question is, thus, are their actions that can be conducted to ensure that hypertension patients become more educated and adhere to their medication.
The main reason for choosing this topic is based on experience in the intensive care unit, where I have had the chance to experience patients coming with uncontrolled levels of hypertension due to lack of education on medical adherence. The goal of the research is to ensure that over time hypertension patients are educated and are made to adhere to their medications to avoid the extremes that may be associated with hypertension. There would be a comparison of the differences between patients with information and who comply with the medication from those who do not adhere to the medication. The expected outcome after the research is that there would be less extreme cases of hypertension as patients will be more adherent to their medicine and, at the same time, be educated on hypertension. The database used for the research is based on the National Health and Nutrition examination survey.

The third step involved using the PICO search strategy, as described in the introduction, where various aims and affected persons were highlighted. The fourth step was coming up with terminologies to be included in the search, which were hypertension medication compliance education. The last step was to conduct a preliminary analysis to check whether there were articles that were identical to what I had used.
The number of articles in the final pool was five. Reasons for not choosing the other four articles was majorly because no elaborate research had been conducted on the study.
