The affordable care act had both negative and positive impacts on health care and especially on its role to offer effective utilization for the American citizens. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 have had a tremendous impact on the provision of health care insurance to a number of Americans. The number of insured Americans has greatly increased due to the implementation of the care act. With such an increase, the primary care physicians have become on high demand. The shortage of primary medical practitioners and increased number of insured Americans; created problems to do with access to quality care to all the patients. It is, therefore, quite a cumbersome task to provide quality care to a majority of the insured Americans.

Provision of care under the new Medicaid and Medicare members come at a considerable cost ( French, Homer, Gumus & Hickling, 2016) . Due to the care act, the workload has considerably increased while the costs remain the same for the medical practitioners. Women and elderly persons have a wide of options that are covered by the act. There is a reduced cost to women burdened with huge medical fees for children and them. Through the care, there are premium tax reductions as well as cost-sharing reductions. The ACA had great impacts on competitors. It caused the other health institutions to become more effective in their operations, and provide better and new models of care and further had to reduce costs to survive the competition ( French, Homer, Gumus & Hickling, 2016) . The most negative of the care act is the rise in the taxes for a majority of organizations and people. The most positive is the fact that majorities of Americans have a health insurance and is more affordable to the people. It is on records that more than 16 million Americans got a health insurance cover within the first five years of ACA ( French, Homer, Gumus & Hickling, 2016).
