I graduated from Kansas University with a degree in industrial engineering. It is from here that I decided to pursue a master’s program so that I would become an expert in the field of industrial engineering. My desire to pursue a master’s program in this field heightened when I worked as a field engineer for Schlumberger for one and a half years. The company is a multinational oilfield services company offering technological and drilling solutions to the oil and gas industry. While working for the firm, I learned crucial aspects of industrial engineering. In essence, this company invents, designs, engineers and applies technology to help their clients to find and produce gas and oil efficiently and safely. The experience at Schlumberger helped me realize how much the world needs qualified industrial engineers to foster economic growth while increasing efficiency.

A master’s in industrial engineering is what I require right now to make my dreams of being a renowned industrial engineer in Kuwait a reality. It is common knowledge that Kuwait is a leading oil producer and supplier as it has the capability of producing up to 3.15 million barrels per day. Oil production contributes to more than half to Kuwait’s GDP making it a profitable venture. However, it is not enough that Kuwait produces and supplies so much oil since the production is associated with environmental dilapidation and increased production costs. I believe that there is a need to find effective strategies to ensure that Kuwait does not suffer the irreversible consequences of excessive oil production. In essence, the responsibility of securing Kuwait’s oil production lies securely with industrial engineers who know how to come up with technological solutions to enhance efficiency and environmental conservation.
Apart from my educational qualifications and work experience, I believe that I have a deep-seated passion for stirring up a change in how people perform their tasks. For one, I am a conservative individual who uses resources minimally as I tend to be future-oriented. I think of tomorrow and today since I believe that the decisions I make today will be reflected in the future. Moreover, I am a champion for efficiency in production a character I picked up while working at Schlumberger, where I encouraged employees to use minimum resources to accomplish tasks. With my experience in the field of industrial engineering, which is coupled with a desire to bring a change to my country’s oil production, I believe that I have what it takes to pursue a master’s in industrial engineering.
When I decided to pursue a master’s in industrial engineering, I took it upon myself to conduct extensive research on several universities offering this program across the US. I must say that there were several of them, but none of them matched the depth of your engineering programs regarding industrial linkages and practicality. Moreover, I realized that your institution has a reputation with global corporations that are looking for qualified graduates to hold senior positions. Interestingly, I realized that most senior industrial engineers across the globe have an affiliation with your institution. I hope that I will be considered for the opportunity to study with at your institution so that I can join the league of industrial engineers keen on enhancing efficiency in production.
