This paper will the emergence of the modern society based on the changes that occurred during the industrial revolution. It will elaborate the influence of industrial society on the current society in economic, social, religious, and technological aspects. It will trace the evolution of capitalism and socialism to the modern society by evaluating the impacts associated with the ideologies causing a shift in society.
The modern society is immersed in extensive scientific knowledge. The growth of education and systems that disseminate information has seen an evolution from the word of mouth to instant communication over greater distances. The growth of employment to the current twenty-four hours economies and continuous innovations and inventions have changed the future of the world beyond what was initially imagined. All the changes, however, have an origin which is the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution started in the in 1650 Great Britain and spread all over the world. Industrial revolution came after the agricultural revolution that has led to better control of the environment and more productivity in food (Pavlac, 2011). The introduction of farming machinery rendered peasants who had been relied on for centuries jobless as they were forced to move away from the land which was now tilled through mechanization. The rise of industrial revolution came as a rescue to these initial farm workers who were happy to work in industries and factories to earn their living.

Industrial revolutions changes have impacted the modern society as they gave rise to urban cities. During the industrialization era, most of the factories were located in the current urban areas (Pavlac, 2011). As a result, many migrated to the areas in search of employment and established settlements near the factories which developed into the current urban cities. Financial security emerged in this era and has continued to trickle down to society to date. The insecurities at the term led to the innovation of financial security systems such as financial insurance that served to protect people from unknown eventualities, risks, and losses. Industrialization led to the development of the transport system for easier movement of goods from the industries and access markets (Ure, 1835). The movement could not be achieved without upgrading the existing transport systems. The modern society relies heavily on transportation and movement of people goods and services. The development of airways, water canals, and harbors, integration of roads into dual carriages, electric trains for cargo and people have seen the movements of goods over long distances over short periods of time. The development of machines initially to make textiles and later diversified to produce varieties emerged during the industrialization era (Ure, 1835). There was a need for clothes to keep warm offer comfort and maintain human dignity. The textile industries are the most developed in the modern society as clothing and comfort are considered as basic human needs. The industry produces tons of products to fit the ever-growing populations.
Employment was distinguished in the industrial revolution. Due to high demand for labor women were allowed to work in industries where they gained skills (Pavlac, 2011). The evolution can be witnessed in the modern society where women form a major percentage of the employed and work outsides their homes with similar or more skills than men. In addition, the introduction of labor laws such as the minimum wage to eliminate oppression of the poor and poverty. Modern society has capitalized on division of labor from the capitalist ideology allowing people to obtain and specialize in a certain set of skills for better performance in production. Urbanization has been a major problem where people often move to the urban centers especially in the third world countries in search of jobs (Ure, 1835). This has increased the urban population leading to increased health hazards in the Urban Centers. The modern society is infected with various incurable but controllable diseases due to the continued increase in populations and deteriorating living conditions. However, they have also been major inventions in creative works lie literature, the evolvement of cultures, arts and music all inspired by the industrial revolution.
The modern society consists of consumer economies where advertising plays a significant role in the sales of goods and services fashion and other hygienic products for home care. Goods are easily accessible in shopping malls and home delivery channels (Pavlac, 2011). The social units of families have also evolved in values and practices to become more cohesive and work together. The values interests and practices have changed with different family holding into different social, economic and religious practices.
