The Computer Physician Order Entry (CPOE) is an example of informatic use in healthcare. The system focuses on reducing medical errors in healthcare, which is a significant challenge for providing care. Physicians in the healthcare facility were struggling with bad handwritings that created medical errors in diagnosis and treatment of conditions. This could result in devastating implications, risking the health and safety of patients. The CPOE was introduced to prevent these errors by ensuring a uniform method of medical order placement.
