International trade has had a positive benefit in my life. International trade is the exchange of products between countries (Asche, Bellemare, Roheim, Smith, & Tveteras, 2015) . In the course of international trade, goods, and services from one country cross the border to another country for consumption. In the past, I have purchased several products imported into the country, and they have had a positive impact on my life.

I regularly purchase tuna fish imported from China due to its superior natural flavor and sweetness, unlike the local tuna. According to Asche et al. (2015), i nternational trade enables consumers to benefit from a variety of goods and services, hence eliminating narrow consumer choices from only the local market. Without international trade, I would have had to settle for the locally farmed tuna, which is of lower quality than the imported tuna. However, international trade has enabled me to sample tuna from China, Thailand, Ecuador, and Vietnam. From these choices, I have settled on China’s tuna due to its superior taste and flavor, hence enhancing my satisfaction.

International trade has improved my standards of living. I have been able to purchase cheaper products due to international trade. International trade enables consumers to benefit from cheaper products due to a wider variety, hence improving their quality of life by leaving them with more disposable income (Finus, & Al Khourdajie, 2017) . In 2014, I was on the lookout for leather seats at an affordable price. However, all the local options were over my budget. A quick search on the internet led me to Mexican furniture sellers whose leather seats were significantly cheaper than local sellers for the same quality because it is a labor-intensive country. I, therefore, opted to import the furniture, hence optimizing my utility.

In conclusion, international trade has had a positive impact on my life. I have been able to purchase higher quality tuna from China and cheaper leather seats from Mexico. These have enhanced the quality of my life.
