Jan Tor has the required experience of between seven and eight years because his professional experience spans 2009 to the present. His technical experience as a service technician makes him a good candidate. He has experience in dealing with electrical and natural gas equipment, which means he can maintain electrical equipment and machinery. He also has the relevant experience of maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, which is part of the job requirement. His experience as a dockworker gives him additional experience pertinent to the job. These include machine operation and record keeping. Joe also possesses other skills relevant to the job such as maintaining open communication, knowledge of occupational hazards, good judgment, and attention to detail. He has a driving license and meets the minimum educational requirement, which is a high school diploma.

Assessment of the candidates' resumes and interviews reveals that all of them meet the necessary requirements of performing the duties and responsibilities of a maintenance technician. Joe Johnson meets all the technical needs of the job. He has enough experience in machine and equipment operation and maintenance. However, Joe falls short in other conditions of the job such as lack of a valid driving license, and familiarity with HVAC systems and various appliances. Additionally, Joe lacks other essential skills and abilities that are necessary for the job. In his resume and interview, Joe does not mention having knowledge of occupational hazards, excellent communication skills, use of sound judgment, and possession of attention to detail ( Durai, 2010) . These skills and abilities are necessary for the job of a maintenance technician.

Although Rose Smith has experience in maintenance, she lacks a broad knowledge of the technical skills required in equipment and machine maintenance ( Price, 2011) . Lack of this knowledge and skills will make it hard for her to perform duties such as electrical repairs, reporting of unsafe instances in equipment, maintaining security, plumbing roofing, HVAC systems, and other building systems. Her lack of evaluative knowledge of electrical, fire, mechanical and HVAC systems disqualifies her from making recommendations to management. Furthermore, she does not mention having a driver's license, and among the three candidates, she lacks advanced education in technical training. Of the three candidates, Jan Tor is the most suitable candidate for the job; he possesses all the knowledge and skills in all the relevant areas mentioned in the job description. From technical expertise, communication, leadership, advanced training to certification, he meets all the requirements.
