I choose a green technology because it is better than its non-green alternative. Green technology entails environmentally friendly inventions that involve energy efficiency, renewable sources, recycling, and safety and health concerns. An excellent example of green technology is the use of a solar cell. A solar cell functions by converting energy in light into electrical energy via photovoltaics process. While the installation of solar cells might appear expensive, it offers tremendous benefits as it reduces bill expenses. Therefore, it can be concluded that green technology is better than the non-green alternative because the generation of electricity from solar energy means less consumption of fossil fuel, which, in turn, reduces pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

One of the green technology’s most interesting points is that it is not only eco-friendly but also health-promoting. Another invention that can be considered green is reusing water bottles. Drinking a lot of water is healthy, but plastic wastes are harmful to the environment. Therefore, reusing plastic water bottles is not only health promoting but also eco-friendly. Another interesting point about green technology is that it purifies the air. Due to technological advancements, automobiles and industries emit a lot of carbon into the atmosphere, and this is detrimental to the planet. Green technology reduces the emission of carbon into the atmosphere, hence, purifying the air. When the air is purified, this allows all the living things, including human beings, to breath properly. Moreover, green technology rejuvenates the ecosystems that have sustained a lot of damage due to human involvement. In light of this, waste is managed and recycled and trees replanted through the use of green technology. Therefore, green technology ensures that the damaged ecosystems start again and remain conserved, which prevents plant and animal species from becoming extinct. Humans depend on the earth for life, which means that it needs to be protected and green technology is capable of protecting the planet.
