Summary of problem Set

The case is all about the Virtual Police Department (VPD) efforts to bring several charges against members of Very Bad Bike Club (VBBC). The group has serious allegations regarding manufacturing and selling illegal drugs. Additionally, members of VBBC have been associated with other criminal activities such as robbery, aggravated assault, illegal possession of firearms, and attempted murder. Although there is clear evidence about the violation of law by VBBC members, the Office of District Attorney has not to be involved in the grand jury. Over decades, efforts to stop criminal activities by members of VBBC have been carried out by every police department. However, police have brought criminal charges and arrests of VBBC members. For example, 12 members have been convicted 6 out of these are on parole, while two were placed in county detention. In this case, the problem is all about how the police can be able to deal with VBBC members who have connections with correctional officers. Clayton Moore, together with his criminal justice counterparts, has one immediate goal of getting rid of VBBC members.

Role of Community-Based Corrections in Dealing with VBBC Members

The primary role of community-Based Corrections is to minimize the prison population and inspire rehabilitation for the criminals. Therefore, community-based corrections have an essential role to play to ensure that members of VBBC are convicted. The parole system should provide the criminal and social history to every member of VBBC in the county detention. One practical and conventional approach to be used in the case of VBBC members is the use of court- ordered community service. This approach addresses issues of retributive justice using restorative procedures (Beckett et al., 2016). Therefore, probation officers should supervise VBBC members and complete the mandatory hours set aside for the exercise. The offenders should provide unpaid labor in public and private organizations like hospitals, children's homes, and food banks (Schaefer & Williamson, 2017). Notably, the supervised community service usually clarifies the degree and nature caused by offenders in the community by reducing the institutional incarceration burdens.

Description of Different Agencies

The success of the Virtual Criminal Justice Alliance relies on every collaborative agency to work efficiently and effectively. One way of enacting a successful relationship is by understanding every agency's individual responsibilities to deal with this problem. State Department of Parole, VPD, Office of the District Attorney, Virtual Security force should work using their traditional roles and eventually provide inter-alliance support. Virtual Criminal Justice alliance should be developed using multi-disciplinary coordinated efforts between Virtual justice agencies to decide one of the most effective ways to deal with and tackle criminal acts connected to VBBC. The alliance's primary goal will consider the roles and resources of its respective members and how best to utilize this alliance.

Intercommunication between all these groups is critical, and every member should understand the roles played by their counterparts. Traditionally, private security agencies are usually hired by other businesses and agencies that need help in providing safety to community members. To deal with VBBC members, the Virtual Security Force should provide resources to the VPD. The responsibility is directly in response to the development of the Virtual Criminal Justice Alliance. Therefore the security forces, in this case, have little and direct experience to combat members of VBBC regarding their behaviors.

The primary purpose of parole, in this case, is to provide VBBC members with a good platform so that they can change their criminal behaviors and able to fit back into the community. According to Dorch (2019), the parole system's objective is to strengthen and improve community safety. As a result of their continued behaviors in prison and society, the VBBC members need to be treated with significant parole and police department concerns. In most cases, when prisoners are released from prison and allowed back to community life, there are high opportunities for them to re-offend compared to those released under tight supervision (Abadisnksy, 2017). Therefore, the state department of parole should reduce VBBC members' chances to re-offend and provide maximum protection to the public.

Solutions

One solution the collaborative agencies should consider is rehabilitative and preventive goals with community meetings hosted by the Virtual police and District Attorney Office. The meetings may present relevant community information like changes in state laws. The idea of community meetings is likely to increase police-community relationships since communication results in trust and reduce criminal acts linked with VBBC crime. Another part of the solution may come from the urge to minimize external and internal communication with VBBC inmates. The execution of this strategy will necessitate the occasional review of the alliance by evaluating the effectiveness and ensure officers maintain propriety during conduct. The collaborative approach by Virtual Criminal Justice also may provide a solution by focusing on continual law enforcement methods and public driven rehabilitative efforts. Every agency should continue to serve its primary responsibility. Lastly, to help police monitor VBBC and their associated criminal acts, Virtual Security can contribute in both man power and resources during the surveillance period.
