June 6 th , 1994 was the day that operation overlord took place. The Allies looked like they were going to win the war as they defeated Germany in two other battles. The Americans, British, and Canadian troops were assigned to land on the Normandy coast before separating into their designated beaches. Juno Beach was assigned to the Canadians who were tasked with forming a bridgehead. By doing this, the Allies hoped that they would conquer Nazi Germany. The Allies immerged victorious as they had expected. However, the bone of contention arises as to whether the casualties that occurred were worth the victory. The Juno Beach take over was a milestone for Canada as their soldiers gained respect across the world. The combat skills demonstrated by these soldiers, and the help they provided to help defeat Nazi Germany, was the most important thing.

However, as you read, you can feel that the author is excited that Canada was successful in its operation to thwart Nazi Germany. Furthermore, the facts presented in the article show that the author did extensive research prior to writing this article. He mixes the tiniest bits of information with the big ones to create dramatic scenes and make readers feel as if they were witnessing the operations.
