Case 1 discusses Mr. Potter’s conflict who is about to get discharged but the healthcare practitioners team has a problem in the manner in which they respond to treatment. The doctors are discussing on possible strategies that would help in enhancing Mr. Potter’s health status even after he is discharged and allowed to leave the hospital (Creighton University, 2013) . The doctors complain that he has a challenge taking his medications and he complains a lot. Furthermore, he is worried that he has not been subject to a counseling session on how he should manage himself after living the hospital. He also complains of pain on his joints as a result of his arthritis.
The doctors suggest the importance of the patient being engaged in a counseling session that will ensure that Mr. Potter understand best practices that help to improve his health status. Notably, majority of the participating health practitioners acknowledge that they have failed to engage the patient on a counseling sessions to improve on all his needs (Creighton University, 2013) . Similarly, it is notable that the care givers emphasize on the need for the patient to be engaged in a discussion that will point on all the issues being noted. Nevertheless, none of the participants takes the responsibility to directly engage with the patient because they find him to be difficult.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
It is essential that the head nurse should identify a nurse who will take up the role of engaging with the patient and discussing all the noted issues. The nurse should be empathetic as he or she discusses with the patient the need to follow guidelines given by the doctors when seeking medication (Stasik, 2020) . Additionally, it is essential to note that the nurse should engage Mr. Potter’s wife in the counseling session to ensure that even as he leaves the facility, he will have the required support. The nurses should use an approach that validates the feelings and attitude of the patient as they provide preferable solutions.
