The battle of Fort Ticonderoga is another important battle in the history of American revolutionary wars. The battle took place on 10 May 1775 in Fort Ticonderoga in New York. The Americans prevailed and took over the fort. This resulted to broken communication between the British in Quebec, New York and Boston since the Americans had control over the area.

The Bunker Hill battle took place in 16 June 1775 in Breeds hill, Charlestown, Massachusetts. The British won the battle. However, the Americans got a lot of confidence from the battle as it inflicted many casualties. The Americans had a limited supply of ammunition but they threw musket fire at the British killing two hundred and wounding around eight hundred of members of the British troop. The number of casualties of war from the American side was lower than that of the British despite the British victory.

The Battle of Cowpens is one of the major battles, which took place on 17 January 1781 in South Carolina. The Americans won the battle against the British. The number of American casualties was less than one hundred while more than eight hundred British officers were wounded and killed. This helped boost the morale of the Americans as they won without geography or element of surprise to assist them.

The Monmouth battle is another major battle that took place in 1778 on 28 June. The battle happened in Monmouth, New Jersey and resulted to the victory of Americans. The number of British troops that took part in the war was ten thousand while the number of American troops was eleven thousand. The battle demonstrated improvements in the American army especially in their discipline and morale (Alden, 1989).

The battle of Saratoga resulted to an alliance between the French and the Americans. The French provided military support and money so that Americans could win the battle against the British. There were two battles in Saratoga with the British winning the first battle in 19 September 1777 and the Americans winning the next one on 7 October 1777. The battle took place in Saratoga, New York.

The siege of Yorktown took place in 9 October 1781. This was the final battle, which resulted to the surrender of the British and the end of the war. There were eight thousand eight hundred American troops, seven thousand eight hundred French troops and six thousand British troops. The American and French alliance won the war against the British. After the British surrendered, the war ended and a peace treaty was signed acknowledging the independence of American states. The casualties were two hundred French, eighty Americans, and five hundred British.

In conclusion, the American revolutionary wars helped to form the America that now is. It made the American army become better and resulted to alliances with countries such as France to defeat the British. The war was a unifying factor as American came together to defeat the British.
