Biorhythms and WD40 for Arthritis

It is very inappropriate for people to support Biorhythms and WD40 in the treatment of arthritis. From a personal perspective, it is very irrelevant to advocate for biorhythms. Though for math class, it seemed applicable since biorhythms charts ware used in graphing own charts for biorhythms of individuals to see how the intersection occurred. It was fascinating, to those whose interest was captured by graphing and integers, because for them the phenomenon appeared to be scientific and sophisticated. The other people who had benefited from this are the people who sold books and biorhythms chart.

To prove this point, if the athletes and the coaches were in support of bodily rhythms, it would be useless for them to use their computer print and also take a record of their moods and habit. According to Gay Luce, biorhythms theory is perceived as childish. However, the idea connecting to natural cycle is not. Biorhythms will still be sold in the market like any other item, but the fact remains that biorhythm is a myth and misconception. Therefore, people should refrain from this ideology because it has no relevance and cannot be applicable in real life situations.

Another myth that people have always brought forth is the idea of WD40 as a solution for arthritis. Believe it or not, many people have a belief that the lubricant WD40 can be applicable to relieve pain generated by arthritis. The concept has not undergone approval, and it can be a potentially dangerous remedy, thus it necessary that individuals refrain from this myth. People often spray WD40 or rub it on the infected part to ease pain in arthritic joints. It has been noted that patients who use the WD40 have received disclaimers from the manufacturers, urging them to use the product only when handling metal lubricants or in instances of preventing corrosion. The main reason why this product is harmful is that it contains petroleum distillates which can pose a high risk to human health.

Demerits of Hiring Older Workers

The most essential effect of globalization is the emergence of diversity in the working force. As most organizations are expanding across the globe, individuals from distinct age groups, culture and ethnicity meet as a team and work together. In focusing on age, the primary disadvantage of encouraging older workers in an institution is that these workers may not be in a position to handle the trending technologies since they require much time to adapt to the new skills and software. Another drawback that mature workers pose involves higher salaries. The older workers seem to expect higher salaries and demands such as higher medical premiums because of the experience they have gained in their previous jobs. Also, some challenges that the older workers generated were related to physical problems such as poor vision and hearing. Moreover, they also seemed resistant to change.

Benefits of Hiring Older Workers

While other institutions discourage the older workforce, some firms have greatly encouraged their presence. Their main argument is that the mature workers often have experience and better knowledge which enables them to make fewer mistakes and hence are likely to perform better. In their perspectives, older workers often require less training on hiring them. There is also a belief that mature workers have a responsible attitude since they are more concerned with job security. This also means that they can stay with the institution in the long run on different occasions.

Hawthorne Effect

Hawthorne effect which is also recognized as the observer effect is described as a scenario that individuals adjust their behavioural nature because they are aware that an individual out there is observing their activities. In agreement with the Hawthorne effect, its positive implications have been experienced in most organizations worldwide. Hawthorne effect is valid since it can enhance productivity in an institution. Most professors articulate that if attention is promptly diverted to the employees, they can boost productivity. On the other hand, if attention is withdrawn from them with no observation taking place, the level of productivity will again decline.
