Children are the people who are most prone to advertisement tricks used by the advertisers to get through to them. During the watching session of Sofia the First which is a cartooned program, there were fifty advertisements in total. In the commercials, thirty-five were of various types of foods. The others were clothing and toy advertisements. A majority of the commercials were targeted to the children aiming to convince them to eat certain types of foods.

In the food commercials, only ten percent were for healthy foods. Most of the products being shown during the commercial brakes were of chocolates and juices which all contain large amounts of sugar. A lot of the commercials revolved around various brands of chocolate and sweet drinks. The only advertisement that came through containing healthy foods were those that talked about some sort of salad.

In general, the advertisements convey a poor quality of nutrition information for the clients. The sellers use various persuasive methods to get the attention of the children. However, a large percentage of the foodstuff being advertised is very unhealthy. The advertisers are only after selling their products. The children are not aware of the tactics that are used in persuasion and usually pressure their parents and guardians to buy the foodstuffs for them. The children grow up knowing that junk food is the best type of food. A lot of children gain a lot of weight from too much sugar.

Children’s health is likely to be poor when all they see are commercials that contain unhealthy foods. The young generation will grow up knowing that if their parents are not able to buy them the foodstuff they see on television, then they are living a poor life. The coming generations of children are likely to develop complicated infections as a result of the television that they watch.
