Medical instruments are essential for the delivery of optimal results in treating patients. Knowledge of medical instruments makes medical assistants competent in routine clinical duties such as helping physicians during examinations, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, performing basic laboratory tests, preparing patients for examination, and explaining treatment procedures to patients. In emergencies and complex settings such as hospitals and medical specialist's offices, knowledge of instruments can help assistants predict the instruments needed and therefore have them ready, thus saving precious time. Making patients feel comfortable and have peace of mind is one of the core responsibilities of medical assistants. If one cannot name the instruments to be used when explaining things to patients, they may feel as if professionals are not handling them and become less comfortable and stressed.
Various medical specialists specialize in a specific body organ or system. They include cardiologists who deal with heart problems, epidemiologists who deal with terminal diseases that affect large portions of the population, medical geneticists who deal with hereditary diseases, pediatricians who treat children, and the youth and gastroenterologists who deal with the digestive system. A sphygmomanometer used to measure blood pressure is an instrument used by the above specialists and many others when evaluating individuals' overall health.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
The value of ‘Professionalism’ in the P.R.I.C.E framework will be the most important in learning different instruments. As a professional medical assistant, I am required to understand these instruments to garner trust and respect from other medical personnel and patients. The most important thing I have learned this week is the caring of patients. Proper care for patients is the greatest service a medical assistant can offer to patients. Caring for patients in a manner that eases their fears and anxiety by being empathetic and understanding when engaging them is my endeavor in my career.
