The poem describes a scene that is derived from family life with tipsy father and his little son around the kitchen. On the other hand. The poem “I Knew a Woman” is mainly built around the supreme sense of love and the remembrance of his beloved.

The characters in the poem “My Papas Waltz” are a father, son, and mother. This is because the poem is set in a kitchen with the son and the father messing up with it while the mother is not happy by their actions. The daddy is described to have taken too much whiskey, and he is waltzing in the kitchen with the son while the mother is not happy. Additionally, on the poem “I Knew a Woman” the characters are a woman and a man who is in love with the woman. The woman is described as being active and attractive, young and beautiful, playful and amorous, and sympathetic. The man is described to be in genuinely in love with the woman.
