Part 1

According to Ngai (2014), after the world war, refugees chose to go to the US because the US could offer them protection against Nazi persecution. However, from page 11, the author states that most of these refugees were Jews and Europeans from the central and western parts of Europe. Security is what attracted them the most as they were to be secured from the Nazi. However, the number of refugees that flee into the US during that time was about 180,000 to 220,000 Europeans. According to the American body in charge of immigration, the maximum number of persons that could be allowed in the country was 140,000, thus favoring mass migration of Europeans. As a result, Ngai (2014) admits the importance the US government has played in having a great number limit for immigrants.

Part 2

Queer culture is a culture that is most commonly referred to as LGBT culture. In the US, the number of LGBTs has been on the rise in the recent past. This implies that American cultures are learning to accept LGBTs in society, whether immigrant or citizen. Moreover, the number of LGBT persons has drastically risen over the past few years. For instance, in 2016, 63% of Americans agreed that homosexual practices should be allowed in society as compared to 2006's 51%. However, the other pushing factor for LGBT culture acceptance in the US is that bisexuals are the people who form the biggest part of LGBT Americans (Brown, 2017) . This has played a significant role on as to why cultures are forced to accept queer persons.

Furthermore, Mexico is referred to as the capital of queer. Despite being a country full of crime and poverty, Mexico has emerged to be having more strong LGBT rights as compared to the US. For instance, based on a comparative study, it is evident that nations that have powerful social movements, low religious population, and also strong left parties are most likely able to guarantee bisexuals equal rights. However, the US has all of the above components, and therefore we would expect their culture to outdo Mexican culture in acceptance of LGBT in the society (Beer & Cruz-Aceves, 2018) . Surprisingly, Mexico is more advanced at equality LGBT rights, whereby it offers its sexual minorities the best treatment as compared to the US. With a new democratic system in Mexico, the country has been able to promote equality of human rights amongst all persons. As a result, the general answer to the question is that different cultures will gradually accept queer culture due to the growing concerns in fair and equal treatment of all persons, and this will be emulated from Mexico as an example, which takes queers to be part of the society regardless of the culture that exists.
