A birthstone is also known as a gemstone that represents the month that one was born. This gemstone is also a form of a jewelry. Ladies mostly like associating themselves with these gemstones. In this case, each gemstone represents a birth month. Gemstones are in four categories namely; group one gemstones, group two gemstones, group three gemstones, and group four gemstones. 

In this case, will only cater for group one gemstones. Garnets are the first gemstones in this group. This is a set of silicate minerals whose chemical composition and the crystal structure is the same. They come into existence due to high temperature and pressure. Geologists use these rocks as a measure of other rocks formation. It has a high light refraction hence its brilliance. Red, red pink, orange, green, yellow-brown are the color variation. This gemstone hardness is seven the Mohs scale of hardness. It has crystals that resemble a fruit seed thus named after Latin Granatus. While balancing peace and isolation, it encourages truthfulness, healing, and understanding. It helps one in building self-esteem. It represents the month of January and has a zodiac sign of Capricorn (Janse & A.J.A, 1996) .

Amethyst is the second gemstone formed through the presence of iron and manganese at the formation site. It is mainly purple in color. Its hardness is seven Mohs scale of hardness. This gemstone has some medicinal value. It can treat insomnia, grief, and addictions. Greeks and Romans use it as a way to remain sober. It is associated with February with a zodiac sign of Aquarius (Johari & Harish, 1996) . 

Bloodstone is the third and last gemstone in this group. It is opaque, green with a spotted variety of Chalcedony. It relieves emotional and physical stress. It helps in oxidizing the bloodstream as well as bringing about iron balancing deficiency. It is associated with March and has a zodiac sign of Aquarius (Farrington & Cummins, 1903) .
