The term 'moral agent' is used to refer to an individual who has the ability to discern between right and wrong. Moral agents are held as fully accountable for their actions. Based on this definition, a moral agent of change is an individual who uses his ability to tell between right and wrong to enforce change in the surroundings around him. Moral agents of change have the responsibility of promoting or enabling change to enable positive transformation within the society. An example of a moral agent of change is Mitusyo Endo, a Japanese woman who challenges Japanese-American internment all the way up to the United States Supreme Court ("Ex Parte Endo: A Journey Toward Justice for Japanese Americans | The Discovery Award," 2020). Through this step, Mitusyo was able to improve the living conditions of Japanese-Americans in the country. Czar, a Mexican-American, also acted as a moral agent of change by fighting for Mexican workers' rights in the Californian vineyards. Through his fight for Mexican workers, they were able to gain union recognition and employment security (2020). Hannah Arendt, a German-Jewish philosopher, was responsible for introducing political writings and theories that enforced change in several parts of the world (2020).

Based on these icons, it is evident that moral agents of change's main role is to use the resources within their reach to support positive changes or conditions in societies. This role is mainly based on their ability to differentiate between right and wrong, and their desire to correct moral injustices that they are aware of. I believe that I am developing as a moral agent of change. There are moral issues, such as gender discrimination that concern me in the society around me. As I constantly try to correct the occurrences of gender discrimination or bias that surround me, I am still growing as a moral agent of change.
