What is missing from my current resources is the extensive or broader documentation regarding some of the previous analysis and evaluations on the position or the intention of the American Constitution about matters surrounding slavery and racism. The other thing that is missing is documented personal narrations by African-Americans victims of slavery and racism despite the achievements that have been realized and the progress made so far in fighting these vices.

In helping me as I advance into the rest of my degree program this topic will play a crucial role in enhancing my understanding concerning the kind of transformation that has been experienced by African-American right from the years of slavery in the United States to the recent times when racism appears to be common in some parts. The topic is vital for me in undertaking my degree program in the sense that it focuses on an in-depth exploration of the aspect of slavery and racism whose effects are still evident in the modern world. Recent studies have indicated that the United States sill grapples with some form of slavery today. The topic will also provide an opportunity to fully examine the adverse effects and the overall impact associated with the modern-day slavery in the United States.
