Nursing is based on theories that are established as the rule of thumb. The field of nursing today is not what it was a decade or a century ago. The discipline has transformed from the performance of simple tasks, less understanding of patients and low-level technology to a multidisciplinary field encompassing multiple tasks, comprehensive understanding of patients, and advanced technologies that are not only revolutionary but also life transforming. To be a competent practicing nurse today, I have to engage in in-depth studies and combining several practices to better meet the needs of the today's patient faced with numerous challenges.
The nursing field is not stagnant: is still evolving with each day bringing new challenges and developments that must be considered. Most important to my future as a practicing nurse is the understanding of the patient. Several theories have been developed that are aimed at a better understanding of the patient and the delivery of services that are tailored for each independent patient given the uniqueness in individuality. However, given the advancing nature of patient conditions, cultures and multiple factors that are intertwined in the whole issue of nursing; theories need to be revised repeatedly to better meet these needs.

Given this inherent limitation in nursing theories and the continual need to satisfy the demands of each patient, I intend to focus on studies that can help in revising, reshaping, or inventing theories. My desire is to align them to the present need of patients by considering those factors that are of sublime importance to the patient first and then to the nurse. This trajectory is not bound to be smooth. Nonetheless, I purpose to invite the help of associates, seek the help of experienced minds since knowledge is built on knowledge.
By transforming the nursing practicing theories, or by any chance initiate a transformation process will be good to my career creating a sense of satisfaction and also to the nursing community as it will help in opening minds with shared interest and also help advocate the patient’s needs.
