I experienced my first Aha moment in my first time in this program. Before joining, I thought nursing was a career, just like teaching, engineering, or any other course. However, I realized this profession is more than earning from your work. I got my sift Aha when I realized nursing is a calling. My second Aha moment involved an assignment we did, and I thought it would be so easy since I attended all the classes and read through my notes. However, I got my second Aha when I realized nursing is a tough course that demands critical; thinking both in theoretical and practical aspects. I got my third Aha when I learned about nurses' roles.
I think the professional nurse's role is evolving rapidly from the traditional roles to a more concrete role both in practice and management. Nurses were originally people involved in diagnostic tests, operation of medical equipment, keeping records, among other roles (Arkansas State University, 2017). However, professional nurses are now diverse in their roles as they can perform the treatment and follow treatment procedures. Today, nurses can make essential decisions affecting their patients, contrary to the traditional nature whereby nurses were required to do what is dictated of them (Arkansas State University, 2017). I love the current diversity in a professional nurse's roles as nurses can now educate patients, collaborate with medical and family members for effective care, and monitor patients' progress.

In my duties as a professional nurse, I will integrate related cultural and spiritual aspects. For instance, in making treatment decisions, I will consider a patient's cultural and spiritual beliefs. By being culturally and spiritually sensitive, I will ensure my patients get treatment criteria that conform to their cultural and religious beliefs. I will also be sensitive to my cultural and spiritual beliefs to deter my progress in ensuring effective care.
