Sporting is an activity that comprises all sorts of games. The evolution of the sporting industry has seen so many games being invented, that favors every individual interested in participating. Football and athletics are some of the most formidable sports that have a huge number of fans. Since their inception, they have evolved to include all social classes, race and ethnicity (Ferdinand & Kitchin, 2012). To understand my involvement is sport, I will use athletics as one of my favorite sporting activities. I will review my past, present and future participation in the game. I will also explore my good, bad and ugly experiences in athletics participation.
My Past Sport Lifestyle
Every individual is usually eager to explore new activities once in their lifetime. This was not different from my past sporting activity. Before I joined athletics, I had so many options to consider, since almost all sports looked interesting, and some even easier. Although athletics appeared to be easy, I used to convince myself that it was reserved for adults, who had experience. It wass during my high school days that I tried participating, and the results motivated me to continue. The health benefits that accrue from athletics influenced me to run every morning before I went to school. My high school time therefore provided me with a platform to participate in what I was longing for from my childhood.

My Present Sport Life
My sporting lifestyle has continued to flourish, especially in my campus life. My current sport lifestyle involves work outs in the morning and evening. I maximize on Saturdays since I do not have classes, a factor that motivates me to practice athletics. Continuous participation in athletics has aided me in acknowledging that sporting is an all-inclusive activity. According to Coakley, sports in the society go beyond the boundaries of race, ethnicity and social class (Coakley 2017). This has been evident in my present life, as I have witnessed athletics being practiced by students from all cultural backgrounds.
My Future Sport Life
Since my interest from childhood has been built around athletics, I am pessimistic that the future holds even greater platforms for me. Apart from participating in athletics for physicality reasons, I dream of doing it for a living. My experience from the past and present will help me participate in big world competitions, where I expect to build a champion name. Considering the knowledge, I have gained from my school athletic competitions; I foresee a sporting future that I will conquer.
My Good Sports Experience
Every sport has its own advantages and disadvantages. My good experience from athletics was when I participated in a local paying competition. Being my first time to do what I love for financial gains, I was fascinated. This significantly boosted my morale to keep on participating in athletics. Another factor that ignited my good experience in athletics was the diversity that was brought about by the competition. Dolan and Connolly contend that, sports can be utilized to bring the world together (Dolan & Connolly, 2016). There were so many professional and non-professional participants, something that provided an opportunity for me to learn from the best athletes.
My Bad Sports Experience
It is unfortunate that my bad experience in athletics occurred few days after I had experienced the good moments in athletics. The next competition after participating in the local paying competition brought me misfortunes. The bad scene happened in the middle of a ten-kilometer race, where I was leading. Before crossing the middle mark, I was hit by an injury. The injury was so severe that I had to abandon the race, despite leading it since the start. That is a moment that I still consider bad in my sporting life, as it took away my golden opportunity to make a mark in my early athletics days.
My Ugly Sports Experience
The bad experience evolved to an ugly experience. The end of my abandoned race was marred with ugly scenes that I had never seen in my sporting life. One of the contenders collapsed some few centimeters before the finish line. At first, I thought he was filled with joy, a condition that made him lie just few centimeters before the crossing. Later, it was confirmed that he had developed a cardiac muscle problem and was announced death on his arrival to the hospital. The memories have never faded from my mind.
Conclusion
Conclusively, involvement in sports is an idea that everyone should try to hold and practice. This is due to the experiences and benefits brought by participating in various sporting activities. Despite the address of diversity, sports is an avenue for participants and fans to have memories that will be carried on for a long time. Health benefits accruing from athletics should motivate people to join sports that they value.
