As a leader my personal code of conduct will entail my values and principles in life which I hope to live by. I intend to display and demonstrate higher levels of integrity, character and accountability. This should be taken in view of challenging instances such as threatening diseases, corporate scandals, revenue crisis or even terrorism. My focus is centered on the moral and an ethical aspect of leadership which is encompasses authentic leadership. This will help me to now, accept and behave in line with my preferences, emotions, and values.
I choose to make independent decisions and to help others not because it is my obligation but out of respect, compassion and love. It is through others that authentic leadership is recognized. One cannot be a true leader by imposing himself on others but by serving others diligently without regard to any hindrances. Leaders are not able to define themselves but for the people who share certain experiences and feelings with him should be the ones to attribute such characteristics to the leader. The authenticity of a leader is perceived by others through the leader’s attributes such as integrity, honesty, and sincerity. I plan to exhibit and demonstrate my core values by perceiving and visualizing myself to act as a servant or steward by leading from both my heart as well as my head. I will do this with the aim of building sustainability and stability within the organization in which I work. I will be fully aware of my own thinking patterns and behaviors and also be constantly aware of my own high standards and moral values including that of others. I will recognize their strengths and weaknesses, knowledge, and in the parameters within which they function or operate.

I will ensure to practice innovative leadership in order to sustain the viability of any modern health care institution help it to cope or handle any impending challenges and problems in providing efficient, effective and quality healthcare. I will make major investments in service training, capacity building, and leadership development to help in the delivering effective services in the health care system. My leadership style will be transformational with a view of engaging other people in a manner where the leader and the follower develop each other to greater heights of motivation and morality. This will help me develop organizational innovation and job satisfaction.
I will also be adaptable and be open to change by mobilizing and inspiring teams to be able to effectively respond to emerging challenges that occur on a daily basis. I will commit myself personally to take decisive action in response to challenges. I will view each day as a new challenge and make accurate decisions irrespective of what has happened in the past. This is critical in effecting new change because such changes require proper management through accurate planning, control and organization. As a leader I will ensure that followers share the same belief s and convictions in their efforts to effect proper change that will help the organization cope with any initiatives of change which can help the organization and the team. I will develop a multi-faceted approach in solving problems due to the growing complexity experienced in the health care system. Because the heal care environment is continually changing, there should be a recognition that change can bring problems and challenges. I will, therefore, strive to continuously keep pace with continuous change by applying effective monitoring strategies to ensure that there is a collaborative working relationship with other health care professionals in the provision of effective health care services.
How to Communicate the Personal code of Conduct
It is important to communicate the personal code of conduct to all staff through training to ensure that they understand the code. I will communicate the code through practice and promotion in an effort to lead the way for the staff. There are several methods that I will use to communicate the code to employees to ensure that it is reflected in the organization’s business practices and policies. The first method I will use is through an induction package. This can be done through induction training to new employees so that they can know what is expected of them. It can be included in the training manuals or the organization’s mission statement. The other method involves engaging employees on a one-on-one training to existing employees to make them understand what you expect of them as their leader. I could also communicate the same through an online training course in a format that enables employees to go through the topics at their own pace.
I can also use the organization’s intranet which will ensure that all employees will be able to gain access to it when they need to. It can also be printed on the employee handbook placed in a communal area within the organization. Finally, I can use the notice boards in the organization to communicate the personal code of conduct to employees. All these methods can be highly effective in promoting and advertising the code of ethics to the employee to know what you stand or and what you expect of them in the course of your duties within the organization.
