Stakeholder involvement

Stakeholders are entities that are involved in, affects, or are affected by the daily activities of a health care center. They are critical personnel in the hospital and should be committed to promoting national health programs. The major stakeholders in a health care center include the patients, employers, physicians, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance companies. All these stakeholders are essential, and with their combined effort, health promotional programs can be achieved. Initiating the support of the Pharmaceutical companies is significant because such companies play a significant role in health care because most patients depend on the drugs produced by the companies (World Health Organization 2015). Their involvement in health promotion programs will help in ensuring that patients get quality and affordable medications by reducing the prices of drugs and practicing good marketing.

Involving physicians in health promotional programs will help in controlling the rising costs of healthcare and also plays a role in ensuring that the patient receives adequate health care. Because these physicians act as gatekeepers and patients advocates, their involvement is vital because it will help patients get the best health care with affordable prices. Patients are the most important stakeholder in any hospital, and they must be included to ensure their interests are met (Eldredge et al., 2016). Patients have a responsibility towards their health and should be enlightened on how to live healthy lifestyles to avoid health problems. This case will, in turn, help reduce health care costs.

Elimination of Health Disparities

Insurance industry involvement in health promotion programs is necessary. The nurses can use such platforms to discuss the strict requirements that deny many patients opportunities to obtain health insurance and urge the insurance company to consider a balance between the patients and shareholders. According to the Eldredge et al., (2016) funding of programs would eliminate disparities because drugs would be provided for patients at high risk of poor health care programs at a subsidized rate because there will be money to support it. As cited in the World Health Organization (2015), patients with chronic illnesses can be sponsored to obtain insurance covers if investors and even donors fund the programs.
