Need for Social Science to Control Covid-19
Covid-19 has ruined the world's economies and extremely changed the ways people live and work. The infection is increasingly seen as political and social events that require socio-political awareness, solutions, and responses. Scientific knowledge provided has developed a lot of knowledge on how to control the spread of the pandemic. Additionally, the pandemic can be controlled through medical and social sciences. Medical sciences help in providing health treatments and fast recovery from the pandemic. Besides, social sciences help to promote community behaviors and improve the relationship among people in society. Therefore, as social science improves the relationship between people, it can help solve the Covid-19 challenges, reinforce the humanization of the epidemic response, and generate an ethical partnership with the health systems and local populations.
Social science should be used to improve understanding of societal and human behaviors. The application of social science can provide effective policies and strategies that will help in minimizing viral conveyance and optimize human safety. Besides, it can offer an insight into society and develop a relationship between people within the society. Additionally, social science develops a system and impacts people and better institutions. Also, it enables people to understand how to relate with each other. Moreover, it provides factual data about the pandemic issues and encourages people to suggest possible solutions to the problem. The impacts of the pandemic represent a huge global health disaster. The crisis needs a behavior change that places critical mental struggles on people, perceptions from the behavioral and social sciences. Scientists can apply science to align human behaviors with the recommendations of public health. People's behaviors can be changed by correcting mistakes via public messages to support positive conduct. Social science can help in providing precise information on what most people are doing is helpful and desirable.

Besides, social sciences can be applied to help control the behavioral patterns of people. Although the interaction between people is important for their psychological well-being and overall survival, there are unacceptable behaviors, such as congested social gatherings, especially at a time like this when there is a pandemic. Such behaviors should be shunned, especially since the covid-19 virus is spread from person and person. As people are centrally connected, they can come into contact hence spreading the virus. However, people can contribute to controlling the spread of the virus by developing positive interventions, such as advocating for hand wash and maintaining a safe distance between them to ensure positive change. Also, social science provides intervention on the promotion of the well-being of the health care workers and social activities that can help improve the community's well-being (Rossiter & Godderris, 2020) . Targeting the most connected people in society can help standardize the effects of any behavior. Additionally, improving people’s behaviors helps in controlling the spread of the virus. Moreover, it can help in leveraging conduct that influences positive behavior via modification of choice in people's conditions. Additionally, people are so responsive to the choices that other people make; therefore, understanding the social norms helps develop a positive effect on behavior. Providing a normative complements regulation, laws, and policies when widespread changes must take place.
Further, social sciences help in improving collaboration between people in society. The application of social science can help people to realize their potential benefits of coordinating and minimize the major challenges of the pandemic impacts in society. Additionally, people in the society can increase their cooperation with the health facilities, policymakers, communities, and the government on deploying to control the virus. More importantly, developing collaboration with the academic disciplines will help in addressing the complexity of the problem. Additionally, developing collaboration will bring together researchers, doctors, and other scientists to gather knowledge and coordinate to address the virus (Kituyi, 2020) . The application of social science can enable people, organizations, and countries to work together and promote openness to data and research results. Having open access to knowledge will help about the virus will help the scientists to work intensively and develop solutions regarding the challenges created by the pandemic. Global collaboration in research should be a new norm to curb the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite its positive impacts, the biodiversity of social science has its flaws as it is dependent on the corresponding disciplines to help understand its contributions and value. Additionally, some researchers and medical science sometimes negatively perceive social science and view it as irrelevant and dealing more with no theory. Medical science has made life easier by providing medicine, which helps improve the health conditions of people (Siddiqui, 2020) . Additionally, the medical practitioners are providing medications to improve community wellness. Moreover, medical sciences help in providing people with the latest medicine and treatments. Additionally, telehealth medicine has helped improve services in health care (Monaghesh & Alireza, 2020) . Therefore, it has helped in improving care for patients and keeping the physicians safe during the pandemic.
In conclusion, social science in the world can help improve people's behavior and norms which can significantly reduce the spread of coronavirus. The application of social science can help in understanding people's behaviors, enabling health care to develop policies and plans to curb the spread of the disease. Additionally, it will enable the health organization to create interventions on how people should carry themselves to help control the disease, such as regular hand-washing. Also, it improves the coordination between the researchers and scientists on ways to confront the virus. However, social science relies on the allied disciplines and is faced with a negative perception by scientists and researchers. Despite these challenges, the discipline should be applied to help develop new behavioral patterns for individuals, which would be essential in minimizing the spread of Covid-19.
