Alen Guth- Elementary particle theory
Alen Guth is a physicist and cosmologist, popular for discovering elementary particle and its application in the early universe. His discovery is applicable in cosmic inflation. His discovery was equally significant in finding a solution to the monopole problem. He revealed that, inflation does not stop, and that through quantum theory of creation, it can e understood well.
Jim Peebles- thermal physics, cosmic microwave Background, best evidence that universe expanded.

Also referred to as Albert Einstein Professor Emeritus of Science at Princeton University, Jim Peeble is deemed as a leading theoretical cosmologist in the 70s. He made significant contribution in structure formation, and cosmic microwave background. In addition, he contributed in dark matter and primordial nucleosynthesis.
Dr Vinod Menon- Nano and Micro Photonics
Dr. Menon introduced photonics, the scientific way of manipulating and using photons, which has gone a long way of touching all live aspects in medicine, entertainment, and telecommunication. Through his discovery at Queens College, Menon and his fellow researchers managed to come up with a discovery of combining organic and inorganic semiconductors, which will be helpful in developing efficient solid-state lighting and solar cells. According to Dr. Venon, his discovery has brought progress in medicine, as photonics is applicable in imaging while conducting surgery.
Alain Aspect-quantum entanglement, quantum encrypted communication
Alain Aspect conducted research on entangled photons. His research was significant as it enabled him alongside Philippe Grangier to come up ‘single photon source’ emitting photons at designated periods. The properties of entangled particles and single photons are applied in research in quantum processors and quantum cryptography.
Dr Lene Vestergaurd Hau
Dr. Hau should win the Nobel Prize in physics because of her work in slowing a beam of light to 17 METERS per second. She managed to transfer light to matter then matter back to light this being significant in quantum computation and quantum encryption, channeling of electrons along strings of atoms in a silicon crystal. Her discovery will be significant in holograms, quantum cryptography, data processing, and in optical communications. Such contribution will have an impact on the entire humanity, a convincing reason why she should get a Nobel Prize. Dr. Hau has received many awards among them Carlsberg Foundation's Research Award in 2011, American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) 2009, George Ledlie Prize in September 2008, American Academy of Arts and Sciences 2009, and George Ledlie Prize among others.
Hau comes from Vejle, Denmark, alongside Niels Bohr who received Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922 due to his contribution in quantum theory and atomic structures. She is a role model to young girls with intentions of pursuing physics, and probably joining the same field. Although the number of women joining the field of sciences has been seen in the recent past, only a few have been interested in physics. In meetings meant for discussing issues touching on physics, only a few are women. In that sense, Dr. Hau will play a huge role of influencing girls in joining the same field. Particularly, Denmark is known for the respect it has for scientists and individuals who have contributed in physics. Carlsberg awarded Dr. Hau scholarship as a graduate student, despite her coming from a small town in Denmark. At some point, she missed her 10 th grade, but that did not hinder her from making the discovery. For that reason, young girls in Denmark and around the world are influenced by what Dr. Hau managed to achieve, and the fact that she has remained loyal to her Danish citizenship, despite being a resident in the US.
