The primary problem was the negligence of duty that was owed to the patients, and it led to the breach of duty. It was an example of a malpractice action. There was a duty owed to the patient, but the task was breached, and it led to harm hence leading to injury and high-level damages. The nurse played vital roles in the breach of duties owed to the patient. The actions the nurses took, which is negligence actions caused significant injuries and damages to the patients in the healthcare organization. In one of the cases highlighted by Croke 2006, there was patient death ( Butts, 2016) . In another case explained in Croke’s article 2006, the patient was operated on the wrong area. The nurse in charge of the patients did not put any priority on the patient first ethics. Further, there was no proper assessment of the patients to provide better intervention mechanisms.

The nurse failed to assess the case scenarios accurately to identify the challenges needs of the patient. The nurse also did not bring to attention complaints and concerns of the patients and family members to the physician on duty to improve on the decision-making process. The nurses tasked in handling the cases failed to provide primary standard care, which needed the assessment of the patient for effective diagnosis ( Hofmann & Selberg, 2006) . For case number one, the nurse directed the patient to be taken to a hospital far away without treating or stabilizing the patient first before the request for a hospital transfer. In the second case, the patient gave a complaint by questioning the site of the surgery, which was to be performed ( Pozgar, 2014) . The nurse failed to inform the medical staff members about the claims of the patient. The situation led to a wrong surgery being performed. Both cases one and two highlights the role played by the nurses that led to negligence and malpractice actions
