Management is tasked functioning oriented, while Leadership is more focused on influencing Nurses working in a hospital with strategies. Naturally, every registered nurse who is practising has Leadership and managerial skills which is important to their work being efficient and effective. Being an effective leader implies one's ability to understand and implement both Leadership and management in an organization or corporation. In health care industry, a registered nurse needs to become an efficient, disciplined and passionate about their work to acquire skills to become a good leader and a manager (Dyess, Sherman, Pratt, Chiang-Hanisko, 2016). However, a majority of registered nurses spend most of their time leading in an informal capacity. At the same time, other enrol for master's courses which are faculty-based, allowing them to lead informal capacities in hospital management.
Nursing is more than a job for nurses working in health facilities as care for everyone with an innocent idealism, and belief can shapes a person's life entirely. It is also essential to possess an element of leadership while at work to nature these gifts. Most Registered nurses tend to pick up servant leadership principles like excellent communication, compassion, patience, tolerance and shared passion with like-minded friends (Kenny, 2015). To acquire important skills and experience in nursing, it is essential to learn servant leadership principles as the first step towards nursing self-satisfaction and self-fulfilment. Finally, anyone how starts as a registered nurse should take nursing as a vocation and not as a job. Commitment, will and hard work make nursing a gratifying career. A good example is learning about compassion and tolerance for other people without actually knowing them.
