Nursing judgment

Nursing judgment constitutes three crucial processes namely, critical judgment, critical thinking and evidence-based practice (Seidi, Alhani & Salsali, 2015). Consequently, graduates will use the acquired skills including intuition and reasoning to assess patients and make informed decisions that would fulfill patients’ needs. With this competence, graduates will identify knowledge gaps and emphasize on the significance of structural professional judgment as a determinant of effective clinical decision making.

Professional identity

Professional identity is an attribute that aids graduating nurses to implement their role inways that reflect the professional code of conduct, ethics, and values including caring and advocacy for safe and quality care ( Guo, Zhao, Gao, Peng,& Zhu, 2017). Therefore, having a formed professional identity entails exhibiting professional practice within the legal, regulatory and ethical principles of nursing.

Spirit of Inquiry

Understanding the spirit of inquiry in education programs enhances the ability to apply effective problem-solving approaches such as evidence-based practice in health care delivery (Seidi, Alhani & Salsali, 2015). Besides, competence in the spirit of inquiry will be demonstrated by evaluating evidence that questions underlying assumptions and providing new insights aimed at fostering positive outcomes for patients, families, and communities at large.
