Nursing research is an important aspect of studying nursing. A nursing student needs to understand the concepts of nursing research because they are substantially applicable in clinical nursing. The lessons about qualitative and quantitative research were very engaging. Looking at nursing care statistics during care is one major tendency that inspired my understanding of quantitative nursing research. Relating the statistical data to the actual situation on the ground was a perfect way to understand how quantitative and qualitative research work. The nursing clinical and the statistical data available on the patients enabled me to understand why certain things happen in a certain way. Nursing clinical and practical a few practical experiences in the past have allowed me the opportunity to understand the actual feeling and perception of patients. This made me understand the concepts of qualitative and quantitative research.
Clinical study designs involve the preparation of experiments and trials in clinical and medical research involving human beings. In other cases, clinical study designs are conducted to seek solutions to medical problems affecting human beings (Tohkin et al., 2020). The most interesting type of clinical study design is meta-analysis. Meta-analysis is a research process that analyzes various research and studies conducted on a given medical subject or area of study. Upon study and review of the multiple studies, meta-analysis combines the findings to help make an informed conclusion on a given study. My belief in this type of study design is because of the apparent fact that the results of one study may lack valid prerequisites to solve specific problems. Additionally, some studies only cover a given area. It is also fair to say that reviewing the findings of several studies is a way of reducing the errors that may be available in one study. For example, the nursing problem of non-pharmacological pain management would best be solved through a review of multiple pieces of research. Pain management can potentially apply in various areas, including pregnancy, illness, surgery, and muscle cramps, among others. Several investigations would indeed, table a substantial solution.
