Gray’s anatomy Video
Gray’s anatomy video highlights various concepts which will be presented in this paper. To start with is the understanding of the disease process to help enhance the quality of life of a patient. This is the first concept and plays a central role in determining how the patient will be handled. The next concept is for the patient to accept the state of the illness or condition they are suffering from and its recovery process. Many of the patients who recover fast from illness are those that are able to accept their current state and struggling to do what it takes to make them feel better. Another concept highlighted in the video and applies mainly to caregivers is that of making the patient comfortable and as pain-free as possible.
Education plays a key role to ensure a patient recovers well and this forms the fourth concept in the video which is the promotion of health and education to the patient and their parent about their treatment and any alternatives available. When a patient lacks information about certain facts, this leaves them wanting and in addition not knowing where to look for the information leaves them powerless.

Peplau’s theory
Basically Peplau’s theory relates to more modern concepts such us motivation interviewing, client self-management, making informed decisions and client engagement (D’Antionio, 2014). For instance instead of focusing attention on the patient only, it focuses attention on the relationship between the nurse and the patient. Its main goals include the survival of the patient and ensuring the patient understands his/her health problem and is able to adapt to his/her new behavior pattern. In addition Peplau uses a four-pronged approach for the achievement of a patient’s personal growth. They include counseling, resource teaching, technical expertise, and surrogating and leadership which according to the setting are attended in a well-defined time frame ( Black, 2013).
