Nutrition and how it relates to our sleeping patterns 

There is a close relationship between nutrition and sleeping patterns. For instance, a number of individuals may nap after taking a heavy meal or upon taking a post-dinner meal; thus, compromising sleep quality in many ways. Typically, foods with coffee nutrients usually stimulate the body’s biological systems that deprive use of sleep and keep people awake for longer hours at night. Usually, the caffeine and sugar contents in food stimulate a number of hormones and neurotransmitters to keep one awake and this eventually compromises sleep by reducing the normal routine hours. Additionally, some foods can compromise digestive activities as evidenced in peppers, spices and dairy that leads to indigestion in a number of individuals (St-Onge, Mikic & Pietrolungo, 2016). Therefore, they may cause unrest and discomfort that prevents sleep. This may further be associated with big meals with higher fat contents that impair sleeping patterns especially when taken at night. 

And since food needs a lot of time to digest and needs energy for the process depending on the nature, big meals make some individuals feel drowsy and this may elevate the body temperature. This may interfere with sleeping patterns since a slight drop in the body’s temperature at night improves deep sleep quality (St-Onge, Mikic & Pietrolungo, 2016). Therefore, people should be watchful in their diets to prevent intake of either excessive or too little of some nutrients and specific vitamins to achieve quality sleep. Hence, it is advisable that individuals take such heavy meals approximately 4 hours before bedtime to lessen the few aforementioned problems (St-Onge, Mikic & Pietrolungo, 2016).

A number of biological factors relate nutrition and sleep duration in various ways. For instance, nutrition interferes with sleep duration and sleeping habits. Some people sleep for very short hours while others oversleep as compared to the normally average normal sleeping hours of approximately seven to nine hours. This may be due to biological and hormonal reactions to some foods like theobromine, carbohydrates, leuten and zeaxanthnin when taken in excess (St-Onge, Mikic & Pietrolungo, 2016). Again, many social factors like partying may promote such binge eating habits that promote intake of larger amounts of the aforementioned food varieties. Others who intake less quantities of calories have always shown too short sleeping hours due to little accumulation of carbohydrates, and sodium contents in their diets. 

Replacing the loss of nutrients due to food allergies 

Food choices influence individuals’ food choices in our daily lives. The relationship between food choices and allergies has been evidenced in children who have allergies because they tend to be smaller than others. Therefore, those allergic to either two or more foods have similarly shown smaller sizes as compared to those that are allergic to only one food. And because nutrients are needed for the body’s growth and development, the absence of either two or more can compromise an individual’s nutrition. Hence, the legitimacy of this principle relies on the importance of a balanced diet to aid in accurate replacement of nutrients despite allergic conditions. Balancing the child’s diet will help in eliminating problems associated with the absence of specific elements and nutrients in a child’s diet, some of which are crucial in growth and development. 

A number of foods usually contain allergens of diverse biological nature to result into etiopathogenetic mechanisms. As a result, the body may become too much hypersensitive to such foods because they initiate diverse clinical responses. For instance, the body may initiate a food-stimulated response as regards higher immune mechanisms as compared to other foods intakes. Hence, the body’s immune system may react in response to some of the biochemical components of the foods in relation to their incompatible molecular weight, biological function and a larger percentage of amino acid sequence differences (Żukiewicz-Sobczak, Wróblewska, Adamczuk & Kopczyński, 2013). 

Therefore, the absence of vital nutrients as a result of food allergy may force the body to initiate some immediate reactions evidenced from the symptoms like anaphylaxis, urticaria, and angioneurotic edema, among others. The contributors to such biological allergies include eggs, peanuts, fish and shellfish. In some instance, late reactions usually lead to the demand for replacement of nutrients loss due to longstanding fatigue, irritability, and hyperactivity. Some foods may contribute to insomnia, diarrhea and bloating and skin lesions and such may include milk, legumes, chocolate and some food additives (Żukiewicz-Sobczak, Wróblewska, Adamczuk & Kopczyński, 2013). Social events like celebrations can still promote intake of specific foods that cause allergy and eventually loss of enormous nutrients that are crucial for the body functioning.

Impact of nutrition on reproduction 

There is a close relationship between nutrition and human reproductive health in terms of how malnutrition compromises the human fertility in a direct manner and this is based on immediate mechanisms. Precisely, there is a direct impact of nutrition on human fertility. Diet-related factors that include unhealthy diets, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, and obesity usually lead to poor reproductive health in individual victims. Specifically, nutrition leads to infertility in both males and females because the presence of some ingredients in the diet affects the biological requirements for fertility (Çekici, 2018). For instance, trans fatty acids lead to diverse abnormalities in the body’s metabolic pathways. This situation may cause the impairment of crucial elements of the reproductive health as they relate to metabolism. Still, other various nutritional factors like red meat, saturated fats and sugar in addition to fatty dairy ingredients lead to infertility owing to undesirable reactions with essential reproductive hormones. Also, intake of larger quantities of soy and soy products may cause higher rates of infertility in men (Çekici, 2018). 

Furthermore, saturated fatty acids, monosaturated fatty acids and the energy obtained from fats causes a lower sperm quality and concentration. Processed meat, on the other hand, is always associated with lower sperm count and reduced progressive motile sperms. As a result, such ingredients lead to a generally abnormal sperm morphology that thwart ovulatory fertilization; hence, lack of continuity in generations through reproduction. Additionally, the whole-fat dairy products and their respective ingredients cause a lag in sperm motility and eventually negative sperm morphology. However, ingredients containing omega-3 have been scientifically proved to increase various semen parameters encompassing morphology and motility. On the other hands, ingredients containing citrus fruits decrease the chances of endometriosis and this compromises fertility in most women (Çekici, 2018). This is contrary to those women who take a lot of whole grains since they have recorded massive number of live births. Consumption of poultry products similarly improves the rates of fertilization and this ultimately supports fecundity, especially in women. 

To support the above assertions, plethora of research have proved that trans fatty acids limit the levels of sperm production and this leads to lower sperm count. It is again associated with higher risks of ovulatory infertility especially in polycystic ovary syndrome women victims. Finally, the trans fatty acids have been linked to infertility and failure of reproduction due to its positive correlation with asthernospermia (Çekici, 2018). Still, alcohol limits the chances of sexual fertilization and this may lead to limited fecundability levels. This is due to their adverse effects on sperm volume as well as the DNA fragmentation of the sperm. This can lead to the worst sperm qualities and deteriorated levels of semen properties. As a result, an individual may experience higher volumes of morphologically abnormal sperms owing to the undesirable semen properties. Therefore, scientists have always recommended the intake of moderate quantities of alcohol that can boost serum testosterone levels that cannot compromise semen quality. Hence, some ingredients affect the human reproduction owing to increased infertility rates. 

Impact of nutrition on movement 

A number of nutritional imbalances cause poor support and movement in individuals. For instance, a lack of calories in the body may compel the body to shift to a post-absorptive state that leads to hypoglycemia. As a result, the lower blood sugar levels causes an upsurge in gluconeogenic activities with enormous amounts of substrates generated from the body’s amino acids. Ideally, the nutrition imbalance deprives an individual of coordination and causes staggering gait, fatigue, disorientation and vertigo (Johnson & Leck, 2010). This implies that an individual who lacks some nutrients due to allergy may experience an early impaired balance that classifies them under the elderly population. The critical implication here is the lack of endurance capacity and reduced reaction time. Therefore, such conditions lead to limited static and dynamic balance of an individual’s physical performance and eventually movement. 

There is a slight difference in the movement complications as they relate to nutritional impacts. For instance, individuals who take part in strenuous physical exercises can maintain better balance. Additionally, young women who are mostly allergic to and skip some meals as a strategy to lose weight have reported an inability to maintain a proper balance (Johnson & Leck, 2010). However, individuals who get balanced diets on a daily basis have stronger attachment of their bones with the help of tendons; thus, maintaining support and eventually movement. Stronger tendons connect bones across joints to aid in proper movements though this requires adequate and balanced diets to enhance support of contraction and relaxation of muscles during movement.
