Most organizations and institutions have practiced norms and practices used to identify the members for the longest time ever. For instance, the board of directors in one of the leading communications companies in the country, Reliable, and Sure Communication Company, had integrated a norm and a ritual of welcoming new members of the board. The board took the imitative of welcoming parties on the first day of the working days. The party involved using the company's grounds, chairs, and kitchen staff to prepare executive meals to mark the day. During parties, new individuals would are educated about what the company expects of them in the organization.

On the first day in the company, one would think that the members are extravagant, and the proposal of cutting the budget would be appropriate. A suggestion was made that the members should contribute to the budget to enjoy at the party and as was well as cutting down the funds expected from the company, but cold water was thrown into the suggestion. Many members thought that the suggestion was against their way of doing things, and it could compromise and cut down their morale. But later, after getting aware of the rituals performed in the company, the member arranged for meeting to encourage sharing of the party expenses to make sure that every member’s needs are catered. It was evident that becoming aware of the company's norms and practices come in hand to help in case a change is needed within an organization ( Mishra, 2020) .
