Organizational culture reflects or puts together the rules and regulations that guide the behavior of each and every employee within an organization. Culture ensures that the organization’s values, beliefs held and the code of conduct is followed as stipulated. Just to mention a few, organizational culture directs on how one should dress, deal with clients, work towards the organization’s goals and relate with the people within and outside the organization (Management Transitions, 2012). For a leader or employer to create an environment that allows achievement of organizational values, he or she has to focus on the mode of culture to be adhered to depending on the information flow and organization’s model.

Teamwork is one of the values that an organization needs. The decision making process reflects how close employees and employers work. Each employee should be allowed to take part in the process. Additionally, employers need to explain the right behavior expected from the employees and the targets they are to work towards. Motivation is also part of an organization’s culture. Employers need to put in place the right ways of motivating their workers; this shows some form of concern. On the other hand, innovative minds and risk taking is embraced by most organizations. Taking responsibility for any action and allowing employees to work on ideas is encouraged. It shows the value of growth within a team or company. Furthermore, an organization that employs people based on stringent criteria always produces high quality services or products that reflecting the values they hold as a company (Organizational Culture, n.d).

The culture of an organization reflects the values that an individual organization holds. It has its own advantages and disadvantages. Culture is the reason why an organization prospers or fails. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the leader to define the proper culture to employees for achievement of the set goals and objectives.
