Helen presents increased anxiety, backache and stress. Challenges in management of medication. Difficulties in addressing stealing and drug abuse challenges associated with Alec and finding a reliable solution regarding care for her mother-in-law, Magda.  Helen needs to learn how to take care of herself, manage anxiety and stress. Evaluation from a psychiatrist, Plan for desirable care for her mother-in-law and improve the home's support system.  Helen is experiencing various stressors such as being overwhelmed by housework, taking care of Magda, limited family support. She also experiences problems dealing with the stress associated with Alec stealing checks, medication, and jewelry belonging to his grandmother.  I prefer utilizing the cognitive restructuring approach in addressing Helen's challenges. The approach helps in addressing anxiety and stress ( Barrera et al., 2016 ). The method is psychotherapy, and thus, it will help her perceive stress and anxiety associated with the uncertainty of events that are affecting her life. The technique will allow Helen to develop a sense of control. Individual counseling is also suitable for Helen's case. It will allow her to cope with stress. Nonetheless, I will offer Helen physical therapy intervention for relieving her back pain problem. I would also offer Helen medication to reduce challenges related to anxiety and stress.  The intervention's main outcomes are to limit anxiety and stress affecting Helen by reducing her role as family caretaker. Reducing Helen's role in the family will enable her to deal with stressors from family as well, provide an opportunity for family members to help in household care.

Helen is experiencing a constant increase in stress and anxiety. Lack of supportive family, treatment and management of backache problems. Addressing Alec's drug abuse and its consequences such as stealing is also becoming hectic to Helen.  Helen needs a psychiatric evaluation, proper medication, and management of her backache. An effective support plan that involves dealing with household activities and care for her mother-in-law and addressing anxiety and stress affecting her well-being is needed.  The main problem affecting Helen is too many family responsibilities, which increased her anxiety and stress level. Helen does not receive family support regarding household work and mother-in-law's care. Alec has also contributed to her mother's stress by stealing his grandmother's items. The problem led to a dysfunctional family regarding helping Magda. The Petrakis family lacks a reliable caregiver for the ailing Magda.  The reliable intervention used to address the challenges is a solution-focused approach since it is goal-directed. The intervention focuses on obtaining a solution by emphasizing resilience, the strength of an individual, and resources that can address challenges experienced ( Franklin et al., 2017 ). Helen also needs to apply to individual counseling therapy. It will allow her to address the stressors caused by uncertain anxiety factors. The Petrakis family can also utilize psychodynamic therapy since it focuses on problems affecting the family members' personal lives ( Smith, 2018 ). The intervention will allow gaining personal insight, thus offering information about how to solve the family's issues. The main intervention activity crucial for the Petrakis family is individual counseling sessions and family counseling.  On the short-term outcome, psychodynamic therapy will help Helen cope with anxiety and stress. Helen should be subjected to 13 sessions of individual counseling (citation). On the long-term outcomes, the entire family should be offered two years session of the psychodynamic approach. The family counseling sessions will help in reducing the stressors Helen experiences from the family.

Helen does not present any form of depression. However, she does not respond to challenges surrounding her life well. Helen is experiencing guilt and distress associated with caring for her family, mother-in-law, and dealing with Alec's drug abuse issues (Plummer et al., 2014). Helen’s is characterized by low sense of self-care and personal love. She is mainly concerned about maintaining her family. For Helen to live a fulfilling life, she needs to cope with common family stressors and utilize well-being interventions such as individual counseling.

Helen's case can be addressed using the cognitive restructuring approach. The intervention is used to change the perception of individual stress by reassessing the situation affecting them and replacing it with the ones characterized by positive self-consideration methods ( Barrera et al., 2016 ). Changing the routine activities such as need for Helen to offer familial care solely will reduce her sympathetic nervous system's stimulation. As a result, her level of anxiety and stress will decrease. The technique is utilized to subjects an individual to experience negative thoughts due to depression, anxiety, and stress. Cognitive restructuring productively reframes an individual's thoughts, thus lowering the stimulation of sympathetic responses.

The closed group method should be used in the implementation of psychodynamic therapy in the Petrakis family. The approach will be effective because of family beliefs and cultures, which do not allow for sharing social issues with outsiders ( Franklin et al., 2017) . The group activity allows individual family members to express how they can help Helen with responsibilities to help her reduce anxiety and stress levels. Utilizing both solution-focused and psychodynamic therapy will help individual family members identify roles that they will perform.

The short-term outcomes are majorly used to help Helen address anxiety and stress caused by overwhelming family responsibilities. Subjecting her to 13 counseling sessions for one hour with a trained therapist can facilitate the immediate resolution of anxiety and stress ( Smith, 2018) . The long-term outcomes are majorly geared towards family stressors issues and providing a reliable care plan for Magda. The counseling session should be based on how Helen feels about Alec, duties performed by other family members, and caring for Magda. During the counseling session, the therapist should consider using a scale to measure Helen's anxiety and stress level before commencing the exercise.
