Overall leadership styles refer to a technique that leaders apply, which entails coming up with unique solutions to solve the underlying problems. Overall, leadership style entails training, the motivation of employees, and making transformations. In Nursing, several leaders, such as Florence Nightingale, did practice overall leadership style. Florence Night's overall leadership style is observed through his training of nurses, research and statistics work and advocating for changes about the soldiers in the Crimean War ( Cherry & Jacob, 2016) . The unmatchable contribution of Florence made hear to get many rewards. Generally, Florence Nightingale practiced overall leadership style. 

Florence Nightingale and Nursing 

In 1950, Florence Nightingale embarked on a job as a nurse Middlesex hospital concerning sickling governesses. At Middlesex Hospital, Florence's work became excellent and very impressive, which led to her promotion. Within the year that Florence Nightingale was hired, she got promoted as a Superintendent. While serving as a Superintendent in Middlesex hospital, Nightingale was encountered by Cholera menace, which challenged her ( Darbyshire, Thompson & McIntosh, 2020) . Besides Cholera, there was also the problem of unsanitary conditions, which perpetuated the spread of Cholera. Florence was significantly harder to change the hygiene practices, thereby plummeting the patients' mortality rate in that hospital.

Crimean War 

Following the break up of the Crimean war, Nightingale's Overall leadership style was becoming visible. Nightingale got an instruction from the Secretary of War Sidney Herbert, directing her to organize a group of nurses who would help the ailing soldiers at the Crimean War at the army’s Constantinople hospital ( Ellis, 2018) . Nightingale trained the nurses that had limited knowledge such that they were able to serve the patients well. The situation of the hospital appeared pathetic. The hospital was situated on top of a colossal cesspool, which played a considerable role in contaminating the hospital's water. The sick soldiers were laid on their excrement using their stretchers scattered in the hallway leading to the hospital. Rodents were passing and playing around the patients. Some of the sick soldiers' bare essentials, such as soap and water, were not available. Many soldiers were succumbing due to the presence of diseases such as typhoid and Cholera when compared to the damage caused by the injuries in the war. When Nightingale observed the pathetic conditions in the hospital, she quickly embarked on her job by requesting many scrub brushes and asking the infirm patients to clean the hospital's interior in all the areas, including the ceiling ( Huber, 2017) . Every evening Nightingale used to attend to all the patients while using a lamp. Her service to the soldiers did impress the soldiers to the extent that they dubbed her as "The lady with the Lamp." 

The role that Nightingale played in this hospital plummeted the mortality rate by 67%. Also, Nightingale instigated the formation of "Invalid's kitchen" from which the food that was very appealing to the soldiers were prepared. Nightingale founded a laundry to enable the soldiers to get clean linen. Through her inspiration for knowledge, she instigated a classroom and a fully-furnished library so that the patients could learn more on how to improve on their health conditions. Nightingale made observations regarding the patients' situations; she wrote a book called Notes on Matters Affecting the Health, Efficiency, and Hospital Administration of the British Army . The book constituted of her ideas on how the Military conditions are supposed to get an improvement. Due to Nightingale's exemplary work, she got an award from the Queen, which was dubbed Nightingale Jewel

Field of Statistics 

Queen Victoria backed Florence Nightingale in forming the Royal Commission, which was placed in charge of the army's health status. The commission sourced the most outstanding statisticians in the country. The statisticians that got selected include William Farr and John Sutherland, to evaluate army death information. Their conclusion was very shocking since they found 16000 out of 18000 cases of death resulted from preventable infections and not related to the battlefield ( Magpantay-Monroe, 2015) . Nightingale devised a diagram called the Nightingale Rose Diagram . The diagram revealed how the commission job plummeted the mortality rate and led to the sophisticated information accessed by a majority of all the patients, encouraging conditions regarding the sanitation in the army. 

Contribution of Florence in Nursing 

In 1860, Nightingale championed the formation of St. Thomas' Hospital, whereby a premier training station dubbed Nightingale Training School was formed to boost the nurses ( Steele, 2017) . Due to this, Nightingale was taken as a person who was worth public admiration. Many songs, poems, and articles were written so that they could honor her much. When Nightingale was 38 years old, she suffered Crimean Fever such that she became bedridden. At this moment, Nightingale was furthering her passion for nursing by working while on the bed. Great men and women used to interview her while on the bed to get an idea of how to improve the Nursing sector. In 1859, Nightingale did develop a book called Notes on Hospital; the book concentrated on methods about how to run a public hospital for the commoners effectively. When the United States of America had a break up of a Civil War, she was frequently on the excellent running field hospitals' excellent techniques. Also. Florence helped in India regarding public sanitation conditions affecting the military and the civilians, despite the fact she never visited the country. 

Conclusion 

Florence Nightingale practiced overall leadership style. Her overall leadership style stood out at the Middlesex hospital, where she cared for the patients passionately. Also, Nightingale worked at the Crimean War, where she helped change the soldiers' health conditions. She published a book called Notes on Matters Affecting the Health, Efficiency, and Hospital Administration of the British Army , which suggested the methods of improving the conditions of the soldiers. She played a huge role in research work such that she developed a book called Notes on hospitals that suggested ways of improving the health conditions of the civilians.
