My artefacts in the nursing profession are pain management and hypertension. In nursing practice, it is important for one to stay up to date with emerging issues and an ePortfolio is one of the ways to keep abreast of current issues (Green et al., 2014) . The artefacts are categorized under four competencies as listed below:
Competency 1
Starting with pain management, it is the ability to ensure that pain is reduced to the maximum through physical therapy and ensuring full recovery through emphasizing on new joint safety and walking. The goal of pain relief is to make the patients recuperate without experience too much pain. In addition, it takes various medications to attain the required outcomes. The medications include but not limited to oral or intravenous (IV) (Bonakdar & Sukiennik, 2016) . On the other hand, hypertension is one of treatable causes of cardiovascular diseases ( Williams, 2018) . It is my mission to work tirelessly to lower the blood pressure of my patients to curb premature mortality and morbidity. In all the artefacts, my aim is to improve populations, systems, and patient outcomes.

Competency 3
The management of pain is one way of enhancing quality in healthcare delivery. The reason behind pain management is to see to it that patients receive the best support. I have committed my profession to ensuring that my patients receive the best psychological support. From my experience, I Understand that psychology plays a vital role in the lives of patients. As a result, I work together with family and friends of the patients as well as taking into account their spiritual needs (Bonakdar & Sukiennik, 2016) . Similarly, I aim at staying up to date with issues that are pertinent to hypertension around the globe. The cases of hypertension have been on the rise in the recent past. Its prevalence is approximate to be at 1.13 billion worldwide as of 2015 ( Williams, 2018) . The average age for those suffering from the condition in the globe is 24 ( Williams, 2018) . Research continues to show that those above 60 years are at a higher risk of being diagnosed with the disease than those below 60 ( Williams, 2018) . The figures are an indication that there is much that needs to be done by health practitioners to reduce the prevalence. I am one of the practitioners who are dedicated to ending the menace based on my passion to see a world that is free from hypertension. Having an understanding of hypertension and pain management is key to enhancement of quality, reduction of cost of healthcare delivery and guaranteeing of safety for those suffering from the two conditions.
Competency 6
In line with the improvement of inter professional collaboration, I have made sure that pain management and treatment of hypertension are my areas of expertise. In that way, my colleagues and other stakeholders in the discipline of nursing have always come to me in search of professional advice. In the same vein, the two areas have enabled me to create a niche in my career and that has allowed me to have a fruitful collaboration with workmates based on my competency while also recognizing their distinctive specializations and skills. I do not only focus on local collaborations but also on international ones to see a better world that is based on standardized treatment interventions. Moreover, inter professional teamwork is essential towards the improvement of population and patient outcome.
Competency 8
My professional values demand that I work relentlessly to ensure that I improve the quality of life of my patients. Subsequently, the values have positively contributed to the enhancement of my professional standards making me to stand tall among the rest in the nursing and healthcare delivery. Particularly, I have remained true to my two artefacts. I take pride in managing pain because it is one of the main reasons that take people to hospitals. On the other hand, I understand that hypertension is brought by many factors with many arising from social factors such as social deprivation and sedentary lifestyles. I understand that I am also prone to such causal factors and thus, I have decided to avoid the causes and lead by example in line with my professional values and standards. My aim is to offer treatment to my patients and teach them on the best way to keep away from hypertension. Besides, I spread awareness on the health effects of high blood pressure. In that way, I have been able to put my professional values and standards into practice.
