They noted that the government needed to act fast in terms of protecting the interest of those affected. On June 24, 2019, the organization had some good news for the people that the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness and Advancing Innovation Act have been signed into law by the president. This bill was passed to ensure advanced national health security while putting the interest of the American citizens. The "Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness and Advancing Innovation Act of 2019" bill is of great interest since it relates to healthcare and how it enhances health national security as well.

He is a Republican who wants to see the national health security secured with a bill that reauthorizes, establishes, and revises numerous organizations related to public healthcare, emergency, preparedness, and response ( GovTrack.us, 2020). 

Why did the person introduce it? 

As stated above, Richard Burr sponsored this bill to ensure that natural hazards like Hurricane Katrina will be noted early and prevented in the future. He wants to see a country that is ready to not only prevent but also respond to massive disasters that might threaten the well-being of its citizens ( Thompson, & Tribble, 2019).

What is the impact on health care or nursing practice? 

The impact that this bill has on nursing and healthcare at large is that it prioritizes environmental health providers at the frontline with the aim of ensuring that every community is not only prepared but also capable of overcoming environmental hazards in case of natural or man-made disasters ( HHS.gov, 2019).
