As technology advances in the health sector, Personal Health Record (PHR) are becoming more sophisticated. With this, PHR has change changed from physical records such as books, journals, and writing paper to software and application that can be used in the computers as well as mobile phones. This paper will focus on testing the usability of the Healthspek PHR App. In other words, it aims at identifying whether this PHR app meets a recommendable feature of its usability. Some of these usability effectiveness to be tested will include learnability, efficiency, memorability, and errors.

Learnability: This test will focus on the ease for users to accomplish basic tasks with minimal training. I checked on procedures and instructions that are issued to the user including the complexity of the language. For successful learnability of the HPR App, the procedures should be easy to follow. This can be tested by clicking around the icons in the app. Icons can be easily identified the users between the age of 60-65.

Efficiency: Since it is a patient-owned app program the test is on how individuals enter, organize and retrieve their own health information and that captures the patient's concerns, problems, symptoms, emergency contact information.

Memorability: The test of memorability of this HPR App included how the clinically relevant health data can be managed, secured and transferred. Platforms for portable PHRs include smart cards, personal digital assistants, cellular phones and USB-compatible (universal serial bus) devices that can be plugged into almost any computer.

Errors: This will test the accuracy of the app since the patients not only use it in viewing and interpreting but also entering their own data raises the issue of data accuracy. Here again, the test of proper development of the PHR can notice this concern.

Satisfaction: The measure should assess your patients' interest in PHR and evaluate this PHR options. One of the testing scenarios is "does it have a plan to purchase, an EHR?”
