My leadership style is the authentic leadership style. Authentic leadership is the type of leadership that seeks to establish an honest, genuine relationship between the leaders and their followers. This type of leadership recognizes and utilizes the value of ethics. Authentic leadership was developed out of the need to demystify leadership positions that were often characterized by intimidation and fear. It seeks to improve individual performance through motivation. In organizations, for example, authentic leaders can increase the individual performance of the employees as well as reduce the labor turnover without necessarily increasing their salaries. Authentic leaders are focused on building a personal relationship with the followers by showing a genuine concern about their followers.
Among the most important characteristics of leadership are integrity, commitment and vision. Authentic leaders use their past failures and the current successes to inspire their followers . They can inspire their followers by aligning their vision with those of their followers ( Leroy et al. 2015). Consequently, the followers can understand the course of action of these leaders and how to solve challenges. This type of leadership is not only important to followers for professional development but is also applicable in personal life.

Vison is a characteristic that requires a prior establishment of a clear objective then mobilizing the immediate stakeholders. It facilitates better decision making though consultation delegation of duties. Also, team leadership brings together a pool of talents and experiences that is often utilized in generating ideas.
Integrity, on the other hand, enables me as a leader to have a direct influence on a person’s choice of a leadership style. The followers’ decision of the leaders to emulate is influenced by how well they can relate their character and experiences with those of the leaders and how committed they are to their duties. However, authentic leaders can attract a huge following from people with different personalities due to their emphasis on personal development.
Commitment in leadership is focused on capacity building on each of the followers. Capacity building can be enhanced personally or through a team. When enhancing the capacity of a follower or a worker personally, an emphasis is usually put on the importance of focusing on their strengths rather than their weaknesses (Wang et al. 2014) . This ensures that employees can utilize their abilities to the maximum thereby producing better results. Focusing on personal abilities also enables people to discover new talents that can be utilized in both personal and professional life.
The effectiveness of a leadership style is determined by the results produced and the number of followers it can get. Ethics largely influences authentic leadership. An authentic leader should be able to apply ethics in diverse fields to achieve positive results. One of the areas that leaders are applying ethics is in the hiring process . Hiring should be based on merit rather than personal bias or preference. Openness guides authentic leadership and, therefore, employees should be able to understand the purpose of their work, remuneration pattern as well as the organization’s goals. A training design is motivated by the desire by the desire of accompany to harness the available talent in its workforce. The first step in the training design process is to set the objectives. The objectives of the training design should be in line with the objectives of the company. A training design that is focused on the employee helps in identifying their strengths and weaknesses. In this case their strengths are leveraged while their weak areas are supported. It also helps in allocating the employees the tasks that they are best at handling.
